Quad City Hitmen Baseball Hall of Fame

2010 Inductee - Jordan Rangel

March 21, 2010, as read by Patrick Rangel, Executive Director, Quad City Hitmen Baseball Association -

Jordan is the oldest son of our founder, the late Brian Rangel. Jordan graduated the Hitmen program, having played 7 seasons and was a member of our first USSSA National Title team in 1997, captured in Richmond, Virginia.

After a successful Hitmen career, Jordan went on to become a 2-year Varsity letter-winner at Alleman High School as a pitcher, helping his team to a Western Big Six Conference title in 2002, twenty years after the schools first Big Six title on which his father was a 1st-team all-conference left fielder.

Jordan played two years at Milwaukee Junior College, where he garnered 1st-team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-Region honors. Jordan went on to play Semi-Pro ball for two seasons with the New Berlin Lakers.

Like his father, Jordan entered into coaching at an early age, coaching three seasons with the 16-year-old Quad City A's, and serving as an assistant coach at Alleman High school during the 2009 season.

Jordan also returned to the Quad City Hitmen as a coach for the 2009 14-year-old squad and helped lead them to the Hitmen's sixth National title in Omaha, Nebraska. Jordan has the unique distinction of being the only person in Hitmen history to win a National title as a player and as a coach.

In recent months, Jordan has become more of a presence in his father's baseball program, serving as the head coach for our 2010 11-year-old team and overseeing the Quad City Hitmen Classic. Everyone is looking forward to little Ragu's input.
