Ryan Durant
Ryan Durant is the son of Dale and Kathy Durant of
Eldridge, Iowa. Ryan
joined the Hitmen when he was 10 years old.
He participated in football, track and baseball
while in high school.
He has
been on the Academic Honor Roll all four years of
high school maintaining a
3.5 GPA. He is a 3-year starter on the North Scott
Varsity baseball team that
finished as Semifinalists in the 2004 Iowa Class 4A
State Tournament. Ryan
was selected captain of the Varsity baseball team
his Senior year.
He also played three seasons with Perfect Game USA
and was selected on the
2004 Top Prospect Team during the Perfect Game
National Showcase that was held
in Ft. Myers, FL.
A two-time All-Conference selection and 1st team
All-District second baseman,
Ryan will continue to play baseball with Iowa
Central College next fall.
Iowa Central, an eight-time Region XI Champion and
currently ranked 6th in the
country, upholds one of the elite junior college
programs in the nation. Their
team has qualified for 7 World Series since 1996.
This includes a national
record of 5 straight appearances from 2000-2004.
These 7 World Series appearances
have garnered 3 runner-up finishes
(1997,2000,2003).
Ryan's future plans will include 4 years of
undergraduate school majoring in
Dentistry followed by Dental Graduate School.
